About 4SHORE Web

As part of the project 'Institutional Capacity Building Activities on Guyana Sea Defences (ICBA-GSD)', the 4SHORE Geographic Information System (GIS) is being developed. 4SHORE organises data relevant to shore zone management of the Guyana coast. These are data from:

Sea defence condition surveys

Mangrove surveys

Benchmark surveys

Soil surveys

Meteorological observations

Hydraulic surveys

Topographic surveys

Satellite images

4SHORE Web is the online version of 4SHORE and facilitates easy access to data and map outputs of the ICBA-GSD. The 4SHORE Web User Manual is provided on this website (1.03MB PDF; requires the free Adobe® Reader®).

The Internet maps and attribute data will be updated depending on the dynamics of the data; e.g. every 1-3 months. These maps and data are copyright the Guyana Sea & River Defences Division of the Guyana Ministry of Public Works and are provided free to the public for non-commercial use. To view or download data, one must apply for a free userame and password.
